RESUMO
Neste artigo apresenta-se e discute-se a evolução
do número Numerus Clausus na Faculdade de Medicina
da Universidade Agostinho Neto em Luanda, Angola, desde o
ano 1998/99 até ao presente. Observa-se que não
há coincidência total entre o Numerus Clausus
aprovado pela Faculdade para cada ano e o número efectivo
de estudantes admitidos no mesmo ano, o que resulta principalmente
de alguma pressão social e política sobre o
Corpo Docente que não é acompanhada do necessário
reforço em Recursos Humanos e Materiais. Concluímos
que não possível aumentar o Numerus clausus
sem o correspondente aumento e melhoria dos Recursos Humanos
e Materiais para ensinar Medicina. A falta destes recursos
é gritante nos Hospitais Públicos onde é
feito o ensino da Medicina. No ano lectivo 2004/05, o Numerus
Clausus aprovado foi de 100 enquanto que foram admitidos 115
estudantes.
ABSTRACT
In
this paper we discuss evolution of Numerus Clausus in the
Faculty of Medicine of Agostinho Neto University, Luanda -
Angola, since the year 1998/99 till now. We have noticed that
there is some disagreement between Faculty approved Numerus
Clausus and the actual number of new students admitted each
year, mainly due to social and political pressure on Faculty
Staff, without the corresponding support in required Human
and Material resources. We conclude that further increase
of Numerus Clausus is not feasible without an increase and
amelioration of Human and Material resources for teaching
Medicine. Lack of these resources is particularly great in
the Public Hospitals, where Medicine is taught. Faculty approved
Numerus Clausus for 2004/05 is 100, while 115 new students
were admitted in the same year.
